About Us

Everything is connected. Everyone makes an impact.

Inspector Planet was founded by Tracy Fanara, PhD—an environmental engineer, scientist, and nationally recognized science communicator—on a simple but urgent truth: the choices we make today shape the world we live in tomorrow.

With a career spanning academia, government, non-profit, and media, Dr. Fanara has dedicated her life to turning science into action. From stormwater hydrology and flood forecasting to harmful algal bloom research and extreme weather response, her work has advanced environmental resilience and improved public understanding of earth systems.

But science doesn’t stop at the lab. Inspector Planet brings communities, scientists, and decision-makers together to educate, innovate, and act on the environmental challenges that affect us all. Through citizen science projects, STEM education, and accessible communication, the movement empowers people to protect water, wildlife, and communities.

At the heart of the mission are the Three R’s:

  • Resilience — building communities prepared for a changing world.

  • Resourcefulness — developing the skills to adapt, pivot, and create solutions.

  • Relentlessness — never giving up in the fight for our future.

Dr. Fanara’s work has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, Mythbusters, National Geographic, The Weather Channel, and Marvel Comics, reaching millions worldwide. Whether in classrooms, boardrooms, or living rooms, her message is clear: we all have a role to play in shaping a sustainable future.

Real People. Real Impact.

At Inspector Planet, change doesn’t come from institutions alone—it comes from everyday people taking action. Whether it’s a scientist contributing expertise, a student running a field experiment, or a volunteer collecting data during a storm, every effort adds up. By connecting people with tools, knowledge, and community, we transform local actions into global impact. Together, we prove that science isn’t just for labs—it’s for everyone, everywhere.
